About Me!
Hello fellow classmates of Malama Honua. My name is Davis Kealoha Mun. I was born on September 11, 2001, making me currently 16 years old. I was raised in Aiea, Hawaii in Oahu but recently moved to Palolo. I live with my father, Sung who was born in Korea and then moved to Hawaii when he was a child and my little sister Madison. The area of palolo is filled with beautiful sites such as the mountains, city life, along with things like the amazing wind that blows your hair and the rain the trickles down your skin. The wind from Palolo is named Wai’ōma‘o. The rain is called Ua Kiowao.
Malāma Honua, which translates to taking care of the earth, can mean a lot of other different definitions to different people. For me, Malāma Honua is doing more than just picking up trash here and there but perpetuating the culture our past Kupūna laid infront of us. In my life, I havent had the sameoppurtunity as others to perpetuate my culture, but I don’t use that as an excuse. Whenever I see a window to take care of this land that I live on, I will take full advantage of it, no matter the size or significance of it.
